Mark Lane
Mark
is a Partner in the international law firm, Pinsent Masons, and has been
working in the field of the law relating to infrastructure projects for
over 25 years. Mark has considerable experience in water related
infrastructure projects both in the UK and overseas, many of them
procured on a BOT or concession basis.
Mark is head of Pinsent Masons' Water Sector Group. The Group
undertakes all forms of water related legal work including drinking
water, wastewater, desalination and industrial water re-use projects.
Mark sits on the Executive Committee of the European Construction
Institute. He also sits on the UK Government’s Water Sector Advisory
Group and is the only lawyer in private practice that is a member of the
group. He is a former Chair of the Water Committee of the International
Bar Association. He is rated as a “leader” in his field (Chambers Guide
to the Legal Profession, 2006 edition) and "remains at the forefront" of
the legal water market (Legal 500, 2005 edition) and is described as a
"leading individual" for Water in the Legal 500 2006 edition. Mark is
the Editor- in-Chief of Pinsent Masons Water Yearbook, an annual
publication now in its eighth edition covering water related economic
and project data, this year spanning 36 different countries and 99
leading water companies in North and South America and the Far East. He
is a member of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators.
Mark is a frequent speaker and chairman at international and domestic
water conferences.
